Pictures

Please enjoy the photos... She is such a gorgeous girl!
PS - We have decided this girl has the perfect amount of energy - she is always ready to go for a walk or play in the yard, but settles so fast in the house and is super polite. We wish she would teach these skills to her fostersister!

More good times!

First off- we forgot to thank Dr. Wanda Vockeroth, D.V.M for providing some alternative options for Ginger! Check out the Marda Loop Veterinary Centre Website for more information about the many treatment options they provide.

Ginger is becoming more confident every day - she has learned 'down' and has started throwing in the occasional woof when the rest of the gang is talking. Otherwise than that she is one quiet gal. She loves long walks and meeting new dogs - she is always curious and gives them a sniff. Today she even got to play with a big puppy in the yard that was so much fun! She will run and run and run some more until it looks like she will walk on her tongue its sooo big. Her other big moment of the day? Foster dad got to give her a quick pat on the head. She is slowly getting more comfortable around him, but definitely prefers us human ladies.

What else? We are working on 'gentle' and 'drop'. Did we mention she loves chasing tennis balls? Perhaps there is a way to tire her out. She is not so good at returning them to you, so one needs at least two balls to play. Don't worry though folks, she will quickly settle in the house and save her energy for outside playtime. Thanks for checking back and we will keep you updated!

Superstar!

Ginger was great this weekend with all the strangers - she even let them sneak in some petting. We are very excited to see progress! She can frequently be seen playing with toys and trying to wrestle with her foster sister. This girl has endless amounts of energy - when she is outside in the yard she just loves to run around. When she is happy her tail is always going, and even her bum will start to wiggle back and forth with excitement. (Notice the blurry tail in the above photo!). As you can see, her 'sit' is coming along fabulous. She definetly prefers to be around other dogs, and is more anxious when she is alone. She absolutely adores her fostermom, and is quite the cuddle bug!

Ginger also had a big adventure this week - a vet visit! She weighs 20kg, and was a superstar. Her fostersister came along for moral support, and Ginger was comfortable enough to take cookies from the kind Dr. that we spoke with. We will be trying some homepathic and Bach Flower remedies to address her fearfulness, and we will continue to boost her confidence with training (toys and cookies are great things in doggy life). Thank you for checking back!
